And we are off…..Misa and Tonya’s Big Adventure!

Stay tuned for the running blog posts today by Misa and Tonya!

Until then….

Herculean Task:  What should we do while we are in Charleston?

ONE LUCKY BLOGGER WILL WIN SOMETHING SPECIAL FROM CHARLESTON!!

Charleston SC will NEVER be the same!

UPDATE:  9:00 AM

TONYA’S COFFEE!!

Oh….by the way….Tonya is wearing scarf (b/c she gets cold), strappy bra shirt under a sweater. Security made her take off her sweater!! Don’t worry…pics coming soon! SHE ABOUT DIED!!

Misa has a direct flight while Tonya gets to hob nob with the government in Washington DC for a tad bit….hmmm…maybe she can get some policy changes in place!

Herculean Task:  What policy do you want Tonya to try and change?

Tonya Pre flight with clothes on!

Tonya after security made her take off her scarf, sweater, bracelets, shoes and SOCKS!!

So….how did the plane ride go you ask? Well….sit back relax and enjoy a good laugh! First Tonya had to get dressed and then relax in the first seat on the plane. All alone, she happily took out her notebook to work on her WIP just to interupted by the evil flight attendent DEE! Dee asked Tonya’s 122 pound frame to please relocate to the back of the plane so it can be evened out.

Are you telling me that 122 pounds is going to help even out a 200,000 pound hunk of metal?? She  bit her lip and moved on back to the wonderful view below!

Nice view! Dee still wasn’t pleasant. Tonya knew the day was going to get better! And it did!

They made it!!!

It’s noon somewhere! Eating at Chili’s with Tonya, Misa, Amy and Sharon!

Misa just had to find this purse she saw here, at the straw market, in Charleston in October…what are the odds?

And we search, and we found it!! BUT the store was closed. It was in a bricks and mortar store in the market…maybe tomorrow.

After much more fun with Amy and Sharon, it’s time for Tonya and Misa to really work on the workshop for tomorrow. So they go to their hotel at the Marriot, thanks to Tonya’s friend Russ and LeighAnn! Only they are OVERBOOKED!!!

With a little sweet talk to our good friend James, Manager!~we scored a FREE room at the Holiday Inn (“Just next door,” with a glimmer in his eyes he points across the parking lot.)

Across the way my ASS!!!

Poor Misa (and Tonya) had to schleep more than one parking lot…

Home sweet Home!!

Herculean Task: Have you ever had a crazy day like ours???

I surveyed the top two people and this was their suggestions: :) Why you should enjoy fried green ‘maters and walk through the straw market! Why not go to Poogin’s Porch? Drink some sweet tea while sitting in a rocking chair on the porch! Have fun!

What if we went to the beach and had our bathing suit inside out??? *wink, wink*
    hahahahahaaa!!!
I did tell Misa about Poogin’s Porch-for sure won’t be splitting the fried green ‘maters!

I’ve never been to Charleston, so y’all have to take a lot of pictures for me. I’d be with Misa on just saying “no” to fried green ‘maters…ick, sorry, just doesn’t appeal to me. Y’all are going to have fun either way, so enjoy and share!

  4. Sia McKye says:

WHY would they make you take off your sweater? Sheesh. Did your *strappy bra shirt* set off the sensors?

Okay, I LIKE fried green tomatoes, lolol! Well, if they’re done right. Lots of antibellum things to see too. I’m for going to the beach. Just the smell and watching the waves roll in make you feel good. Of course, I can never go to the beach when it’s warm without getting IN the water.

Have fun. I’ll be attending RT but will be checking your blog adventures as I can and sharing some of my adventures too.

    Hugs to you both!

Hi Sia! I can’t go to RT and its only 1 1/2 hours from my house!! I’m missing some good times. The fried green tomatoes there are sooo good, but they only give you ONE! It’s been a couple years since I’ve eaten there so maybe it’s changed.
Security made me take my sweater off before I went through! I about died!! And I never get embarrassed. BUT there I stood with no belt, no shoes, no jewelry and NO SHIRT.

Have some fried green tomatoes for me. Haven’t had any since I left Baltimore. Enjoy Charleston, I’ll get there some day. Once the husband retires I plan on a lot of traveling.

On our honeymoon we stayed at a B&B. The plumbing didn’t work in our room with the lovely view so that let us have two rooms. The one one the third floor was to pee in and the one on the second floor… well… you get the picture.

I’m flying to Georgia in June. Hoping for “not a crazy day like Misa and Tonya”. LOL

  16. Laurie says:

LOL. Isn’t going through security fun? Traveling these days is rarely without incidence. DC was overbooked last July too, and Renee has some tales to tell of her flight there from Kansas.

You made it and it sounds like you had a wonderful day! I can’t wait to hear all about it when you guys get back!
