The Lola Cruz mystery series is close to my heart. I’ve stripped down the hero of the series, Jack Callaghan. Oh my, just looked at this post, got to gaze at Timothy Olyphant who’s the perfect Jack Callaghan in my opinion, and, yeah, I’m loving the Lola series all over again. *blushing*. A dirty little stripping down of super detective and bad ass Manny Camacho is coming soon!
Why all the Lola love? Because Bare-Naked Lola released in print this week, and releases in digital on May 15th! SO excited!
If you’ve never read the other Lola Cruz Mysteries, no worries. This book stands alone and is a great introduction to the series.
As one reviewer put it (about Living the Vida Lola, and no, I don’t know her!), reading Lola “was like how people describe drugs from a dealer. Once I had a “taste” of Lola’s world I needed more”. That is music to a writer’s ears! She went on to say that she read it twice because “the dialogue was so crisp, the banter so great that I had to go back and do it all again. I wanted to make sure I hadn’t accidentally skimmed over a witty remark, know with certainty I hadn’t missed a single thought Lola had.”

I’m going with love triangle on this one. Variety is the spice of life and if you use Lola as an example, it’s the tension between Lola and Manny that makes the fruition of Lola and Jack that much hotter.
