Bare-Naked Lola is Here!

The Lola Cruz mystery series is close to my heart.  I’ve stripped down the hero of the series, Jack Callaghan.  Oh my, just looked at this post, got to gaze at Timothy Olyphant who’s the perfect Jack Callaghan in my opinion, and, yeah, I’m loving the Lola series all over again. *blushing*.  A dirty little stripping down of super detective and bad ass Manny Camacho is coming soon!

Why all the Lola love?  Because Bare-Naked Lola released in print this week, and releases in digital on May 15th!  SO excited!

If you’ve never read the other Lola Cruz Mysteries, no worries.  This book stands alone and is a great introduction to the series.

As one reviewer put it (about Living the Vida Lola, and no, I don’t know her!), reading Lola “was like how people describe drugs from a dealer. Once I had a “taste” of Lola’s world I needed more”.  That is music to a writer’s ears!  She went on to say that she read it twice because “the dialogue was so crisp, the banter so great that I had to go back and do it all again. I wanted to make sure I hadn’t accidentally skimmed over a witty remark, know with certainty I hadn’t missed a single thought Lola had.”

Add to that great review, this praise from Book Junkie: “P.I Lola Cruz is a force to be reckoned with, that woman is pure spitfire so you better prepare yourself for one hell of a fun ride! A can’t miss, especially for a wonderful summer read.”

Intrigued?  I hope so!  And I hope you’ll give the Lola Cruz mystery series a try, beginning with Bare-Naked Lola.   If not, let me try to convince you with this praise for the book and this praise for the series.  Yes, shameless, but everyone needs to read Lola!

LOLA CRUZ MYSTERIES

Meet Lola Cruz. After paying her dues as an intern, she’s now a full-fledged detective at Camacho and Associates. Her boss is Manny Camacho, a muy caliente former cop with a mysterious ex-wife, a Lara Croft look-alike girlfriend, and a sudden personal interest in Lola.  She’s also reunited with the gorgeous Jack Callaghan, her high school crush whom she shamelessly tailed years ago and photographed doing the horizontal salsa with some other lucky girl.

Bare-Naked Lola

Going undercover is second nature for Private Investigator Lola Cruz, but she’s out of her league when the case of a murdered Royals Courtside Dancer leads her to a local nudist resort. Parading around the sidelines of Sacramento’s professional basketball scene in a barely-there cheerleading outfit is one thing—but parading around in nothing but smile? If she has any chance of hiding this from her traditional family and on-again/off-again boyfriend Jack, she’s going to have a lot more than her duct tape bra and killer dance moves to keep under wraps….

Check out the trailer for the Lola Cruz mystery series, made by my friend, Rachel Firasek.  *Rachel love!*  It was featured on USA Today’s Happily Ever Blog a few days ago!

Now that you’ve up to date on all things Lola, I have a question for you….  Love Triangle or Soul Mate?  And if you fall into the “I prefer the soul mate romances (ala Jack and Lola)”, then how do you like it to stay fresh?

  1. I’m going with love triangle on this one. Variety is the spice of life and if you use Lola as an example, it’s the tension between Lola and Manny that makes the fruition of Lola and Jack that much hotter.

I just started reading Bare Nked Lola-and you know I’m Manny’s #1 fan! Without him, Lola would be lost!
