Four out of the six in my household have their birthdays in October. The four girls. The twins (the youngest) are at the start of the month, then the eldest child and finally, me. I love birthdays and I love organising the birthday parties for the children. It’s definitely about the party not the presents for us–about getting everyone together and having a good time. I possibly go a little too OTT but not completely mad. With four young, active kids day to day life is pretty busy and full on trying to rear them right, so it’s fun to stop and have a major celebrate session when we reach another milestone.
But I don’t organise a party for me. I’ve stalled on counting my milestones–choosing to forget my actual age–but I like that my kids really get into thinking up and doing things for me in return. That’s nice.
Anyway, here it is, MY birthday (in New Zealand as I’m writing this, its the 26th already and that’s my day). The kids are at school, I’ve a few things to do this morning and then I’m meeting my hubster for lunch out and then in that space before the kids get home from school and the craziness begins, I’m going to curl up and read and nibble on the delicious box of Turkish Delight I have on my table – yay! So, here’s the deal I’d love you to find an hour today to curl up and read too – that’ll be a cool thing for me to think of, like a birthday-book-party or something!
And, if you need something to read, then go and grab BARGAIN IN BRONZE the first of my FLIRTING TO WIN Indulgence trilogy. It is free on Amazon right now. Yes free. And have a great day!

Happy birthday! I’m in NZ so I’m a day out I’m afraid, but we could pretend I’m in the states and then I’d be right on time. Hope you had a fab time. I read a book and ate a piece of Turkish delight yesterday! Truly. Must have been channeling your birthday thoughts. x
