Weekend Writer’s Workshop–Craft Saturday!

Purses made out of books.  Books turned into purses.  How intriguing is that?

I’ve found lots of websites that sell them–they are muy caro and they are out of my price range.

But whenI saw this article from GalleyCat about Natalie Portman carrying a handbag made out of a Lolita book, I became REALLY intrigued.  And also totally inspired.  Since then, I’ve found lots of websites telling how to turn books into purses.

There’s also a video to go with it:

How to make a purse out of a book.

So, for your weekend craft task, instead of writing, let’s make purses!  Find an old book–and old favorite, if you can, and make yourself a book purse.

What do you think of these books-turned-purses?  Are you up for the challenge?

If you are, get crafty this weekend and make a purse out of an old book.  Take a picture and post it on your facebook, linking back to this post it!!

Oh, and they have your Breakfast at Tiffany’s purse with your idol! MUCH better prices. I’m a crafty girl, though, and trying to teach my daughter to be one, so we’re going to try to make them on our own. Wish us luck!
